They all laughed

They all laughed at Christopher Columbus
When he said the world was round
They all laughed when Edison recorded sound
They all laughed at Wilbur and his brother
When they said that man could fly

They told Marconi
Wireless was a phony
It's the same old cry
They laughed at me wanting you
Said I was reaching for the moon
But oh, you came through
Now they'll have to change their tune

They all said we never could be happy
They laughed at us and how!
But ho, ho, ho!
Who's got the last laugh now?

They all laughed at Rockefeller Center
Now they're fighting to get in
They all laughed at Whitney and his cotton gin
They all laughed at Fulton and his steamboat
Hershey and his chocolate bar

Ford and his Lizzie
Kept the laughers busy
That's how people are
They laughed at me wanting you
Said it would be, "Hello, Goodbye."
And oh, you came through
Now they're eating humble pie

They all said we'd never get together
Darling, let's take a bow
For ho, ho, ho!
Who's got the last laugh?
Hee, hee, hee!
Let's at the past laugh
Ha, ha, ha!
Who's got the last laugh now?"

Todo dia era dia de índio

Curumim,chama Cunhatã
Que eu vou contar

Curumim,chama Cunhatã
Que eu vou contar

Todo dia era dia de índio
Todo dia era dia de índio

Curumim,Cunhatã
Cunhatã,Curumim

Antes que o homem aqui chegasse
Às Terras Brasileiras
Eram habitadas e amadas
Por mais de 3 milhões de índios
Proprietários felizes
Da Terra Brasilis

Pois todo dia era dia de índio
Todo dia era dia de índio

Mas agora eles só tem
O dia 19 de Abril

Mas agora eles só tem
O dia 19 de Abril

Amantes da natureza
Eles são incapazes
Com certeza
De maltratar uma fêmea
Ou de poluir o rio e o mar

Preservando o equilíbrio ecológico
Da terra,fauna e flora

Pois em sua glória,o índio
É o exemplo puro e perfeito
Próximo da harmonia
Da fraternidade e da alegria

Da alegria de viver!
Da alegria de viver!

E no entanto,hoje
Pois antigamente

Todo dia era dia de índio
Todo dia era dia de índio

Curumim,Cunhatã
Cunhatã,Curumim

Terêrê,oh yeah!
Terêreê,oh!

(Jorge Ben)

Encantada

Após nove ou dez conhaques
Acordei qual uma flor
Sem Engov nem ataques
Nem senti tremor

Homem sempre me aparece
Geralmente bem me dou
Mas um meia boca desses
Me desconcertou

Tinindo estou, curtindo estou
Criança chorando e sorrindo estou
Inquieta, tonta e encantada estou

Sem dormir, não tem dormir
O amor vem e diz: não convém dormir
Inquieta, tonta e encantada estou

Me perdi dominada e daí errei sim

Inquieta, tonta e encantada estou

Niná-lo eu vou, no embalo eu vou
Um dia na pele grudado eu vou
Inquieta, tonta e encantada estou

Ao falar ele sente travação, timidez
Mas horizontalmente, falando ele é dez
Perplexa e fim, conexo enfim
Inquieta, tonta e encantada estou

Ele é tolo, mas um tolo
O seu charme as vezes tem
Em seus braços eu me enrolo
Que nem um neném

Caso é aquela coisa louca
Nem dormindo eu estou
Desde que esse meia boca
Me desconsertou...

Sensata enfim, constato enfim
Sua baixa estatura de fato enfim
Inquieta, tonta e encantada não mais

Doeu demais, rendeu demais
Você ganhou muito e perdeu demais
Inquieta, tonta e encantada não mais

Tive um surto dispéctico
Mas viver já não dói
Tenho peito antiséptico
Desde que você se foi

Romance, finis
Sem chance, finis
Calor a invadir o meu colã, finis
Inquieta, tonta e encantada não mais

Bewitched bothered and bewildered
Richards Rodgers / Lorenz Hart (versão: Carlos Rennó)

Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered

After one whole quart of brandy
Like a daisy, I'm awake
With no Bromo-Seltzer handy
I don't even shake

Men are not a new sensation
I've done pretty well I think
But this half-pint imitation
Put me on the blink

I'm wild again, beguiled again
A simpering, whimpering child again
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I

Couldn't sleep and wouldn't sleep
When love came and told me, I shouldn't sleep
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I

Lost my heart, but what of it
He is cold I agree
He can laugh, but I love it
Although the laugh's on me

I'll sing to him, each spring to him
And long, for the day when I'll cling to him
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I

He's a fool and don't I know it
But a fool can have his charms
I'm in love and don't I show it
Like a babe in arms

Love's the same old sad sensation
Lately I've not slept a wink
Since this half-pint imitation
Put me on the blink

I've sinned a lot, I'm mean a lot
But I'm like sweet seventeen a lot
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I

I'll sing to him, each spring to him
And worship the trousers that cling to him
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I

When he talks, he is seeking
Words to get off his chest
Horizontally speaking, he's at his very best

Vexed again, perplexed again
Thank God, I can be oversexed again
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I

Wise at last, my eyes at last,
Are cutting you down to your size at last
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - no more

Burned a lot, but learned a lot
And now you are broke, so you earned a lot
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - no more

Couldn't eat, was dispeptic
Life was so hard to bear
Now my heart's antiseptic
Since you moved out of there

Romance, finis.
Your chance, finis.
Those ants that invaded my pants, finis.
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - no more

Não é fácil

Não pensar em você
Não é fácil
É estranho
Não te contar meus planos
Não te encontrar

Todo dia de manhã
Enquanto tomo meu café amargo
É, ainda boto fé
De um dia te ter ao meu lado

Na verdade eu preciso aprender
Não é fácil, não é fácil

Onde você anda
Onde está você
Toda vez que saio
Me preparo pra talvez te ver

Na verdade eu preciso esquecer
Não é fácil, não é fácil

Todo dia de manhã
Enquanto tomo meu café amargo
É, ainda boto fé
De um dia te ter ao meu lado

O que eu faço
O que posso fazer?
Não é fácil
Não é fácil

Se você quisesse ia ser tão legal
Acho que eu seria mais feliz
Do que qualquer mortal

Na verdade não consigo esquecer
Não é fácil
É estranho

Tigresa

Me falou que o mal é bom e o bem cruel

E hoje dança no Frenetic Dancin’ Days

As garras da felina me marcaram o coração
E a manhã nasceu azul
Como é bom poder tocar um instrumento

(Caetano Veloso)
